Accra High Court grants Oliver Barker-Vormawor bail after three denials for protesting against illegal mining.

Oliver Barker-Vormawor, a leader of the Democracy Hub, was granted bail of ¢20,000 by an Accra High Court after being arrested during a protest against illegal mining (galamsey) in Ghana. His bail was denied three times prior. Barker-Vormawor and 52 others faced charges including unlawful assembly and assault during the September demonstration. Despite his arrest, he remains dedicated to advocating for environmental reform and accountability in the mining sector.
