2-year-old brown bear Boki at Wildwood Trust undergoes pioneering UK brain surgery for hydrocephalus.

Boki, a two-year-old brown bear at the Wildwood Trust in Canterbury, Kent, is recovering from pioneering brain surgery for hydrocephalus, a fluid build-up in the brain. The surgery, performed by Dr. Romain Pizzi on October 9, is the first of its kind in the UK. Boki is taking children's painkiller Calpol during recovery, which may take six months to a year. The operation and aftercare costs are estimated at £20,000, with fundraising efforts underway.
