On October 13, a 34-year-old man armed with a katana-like sword was arrested following a lengthy standoff at a Menasha business. Police responded to an alarm at around 7:20 a.m. and discovered the suspect inside, who refused to cooperate and caused property damage. After unsuccessful negotiation attempts, the Winnebago County SWAT Team and a K9 Unit were deployed, leading to his arrest. He faces multiple charges, which are now with the district attorney's office.
