Supreme Court extends stay on defamation case against Tharoor's "scorpion on Shivling" remark.
The Supreme Court of India has extended a stay on defamation proceedings against Congress MP Shashi Tharoor regarding his "scorpion on Shivling" remark about Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The court has given four weeks for Delhi police and BJP leader Rajiv Babbar to respond to Tharoor’s plea. Tharoor challenges a previous high court ruling that refused to dismiss the case, initiated by Babbar in 2018, claiming his religious sentiments were hurt.
