TOYO Co., Ltd., a Japanese solar company, plans to build a 2 GW solar cell manufacturing facility in Ethiopia, investing $60 million. This plant, located in the Hawassa Industrial Park, will produce 15.5 million solar cells monthly and create around 1,000 jobs. The initiative aligns with Ethiopia's renewable energy goals and aims to enhance local economic development while supporting global solar manufacturing efforts. Construction is set to begin soon.
