A Central Bank of Ireland report indicates that 5% of properties face challenges obtaining flood insurance, primarily in Dublin, Cork, Kildare, Clare, and Louth. The flood protection gap, the difference between flood damage costs and insured amounts, is worsening, with annual flood damages estimated at €101 million, of which €90 million is uninsured. Climate change is expected to escalate flood risks, necessitating collaborative efforts to address these issues.
