Helen Davey, a 39-year-old mother, died after becoming trapped by a malfunctioning gas-lift ottoman bed in June. The bed's defective piston caused the mattress to unexpectedly lower, suffocating her. Her daughter found her but could not revive her. In response, Senior Coroner Jeremy Chipperfield has alerted the government, urging action to address the dangers of such beds and prevent similar incidents in the future.
