Serbia extends Russian gas contract by 400 million cubic meters, seeking alternative sources.
Serbia has secured an agreement with Russia's Gazprom for an additional 400 million cubic meters of natural gas this winter, as part of a three-year contract initiated in May 2022. Despite consuming around 2.5 billion cubic meters annually and relying heavily on Russian gas, Serbia is exploring alternative sources, including agreements with Azerbaijan, North Macedonia, and Romania, to reduce its dependence on Russian supplies.
