A kiteboarder died after a medical emergency at First Encounter Beach in Eastham, Massachusetts, on October 12. Bystanders and police performed CPR before transporting him to Cape Cod Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The cause of the emergency is unknown, and the victim's identity has not been disclosed. Additionally, two police officers were treated for saltwater inhalation and hypothermia; one remained overnight for observation. Both are expected to recover.
