An abandoned school in South Dallas, the Maya Angelou High School, caught fire early Sunday morning around 4:30 a.m. A passerby reported flames visible from the roof. Firefighters initially fought the blaze from inside but shifted to a defensive strategy as it intensified. Approximately 60 to 70 firefighters responded, and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, following a smaller fire at the site on September 26.
