35-year-old Michael Harkin, schizophrenic prisoner who killed cellmate with TV cord, sentenced to indefinite detention at Broadmoor Hospital.

Michael Harkin, 35, was sentenced to indefinite detention at Broadmoor Hospital after being convicted of manslaughter for strangling his cellmate, Dan Childs, 38, with a TV cord at HMP Bristol. Suffering from schizophrenia and religious delusions, Harkin attacked Childs due to a false belief that he was a pedophile. The court deemed Harkin's mental health issues made it unsafe for him to return to the prison system.
