Sri Lankan Ministry directs police to expedite investigations into 2015 Treasury bond scandal, 2019 Easter bombings, and other high-profile cases.

The Sri Lankan Ministry of Public Security has directed the Acting Inspector General of Police to accelerate investigations into seven high-profile cases, notably the 2015 Treasury bond scandal and the 2019 Easter Sunday bombings. Other cases include the 2022 death of businessman Dinesh Schaffter, the 2011 disappearances of activists in Jaffna, and the killing of journalist Taraki Sivaram. The Ministry emphasized collaboration with the Criminal Investigations Department and relevant police units.
