Sanjay Raut of Shiv Sena (UBT) criticized the Maharashtra government for using the inaugural landing of an IAF C-295 at Navi Mumbai's International Airport as an election gimmick, labeling it "stuntbaazi." In contrast, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde defended the event, calling the airport a benefit for residents. The airport, named Lokneta DB Patil Navi Mumbai International Airport, is expected to be completed by March 2025, with commercial flights beginning then.
