An asteroid named Zhongnanshan has been officially recognized by the International Astronomical Union, honoring Chinese respiratory disease expert Zhong Nanshan. Discovered by the Purple Mountain Observatory, the asteroid orbits the sun at an average distance of 373 million kilometers, completing its orbit in 4.05 years. Zhong, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, expressed gratitude for the recognition of his contributions to health science.
