CPW suspends wolf pup capture due to cold, continuing monitoring and re-release plans for a restoration mission.
Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) has suspended efforts to capture a fifth wolf pup from the Copper Creek pack after 19 nights of attempts, citing colder temperatures. The six-month-old pup can forage independently. Previously, CPW relocated the adult female and four pups but lost the adult male due to injuries. Monitoring will continue, and the wolves are set for re-release this winter as part of a restoration plan aimed at establishing a sustainable population.
