Belfast city council is set to permit Class A and Class C taxis to access select bus lanes in the city center to combat traffic congestion amid ongoing roadworks related to the Sydenham Bypass and the new Grand Central Station. This pilot scheme aims to support the taxi industry and minimize disruptions during construction. Infrastructure Minister John O'Dowd expressed optimism about its potential benefits, with a start date to be announced soon.
