Blue Jackets captain Jenner to miss most of the NHL season due to shoulder surgery from a practice injury.
Columbus Blue Jackets captain Boone Jenner will be sidelined for most of the NHL season after undergoing shoulder surgery due to an injury from practice. General Manager Don Waddell estimates a recovery of five to six months, with hopes for Jenner's return before the season ends, possibly by the March 1 outdoor game. Jenner, 31, is the franchise's all-time leader in games played and has been captain since 2021-22. The team opens the season against Minnesota.
