Austrian President Van der Bellen urges leading parties to negotiate coalition, excludes Freedom Party due to its leader's reputation.

Austrian President Alexander Van der Bellen has called on the country's three largest parties to negotiate a coalition following the Freedom Party's election victory, where it garnered 28.8% of the vote. Van der Bellen has broken with tradition by not tasking the winning party with forming a government and expects updates from party leaders by next week.
