MI5 Director-General Ken McCallum has reported a concerning threefold increase in children under 18 being investigated for terrorism in the UK, now comprising 13% of such cases. This rise is largely attributed to the influence of extreme right-wing propaganda online. Since March 2017, MI5 has disrupted 43 late-stage terror plots. Additionally, McCallum noted growing threats from ISIS, al-Qaeda, and hostile state actors like Russia and Iran.
