Sri Lanka's cabinet approves trade agreement with Russia through clear customs procedures.

Sri Lanka's cabinet has approved an agreement to promote legally valid trade with Russia through clear customs procedures. Initially approved on November 15, 2021, the agreement remains unsigned. Proposed by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, the deal follows discussions between both governments. Trade between Sri Lanka and Russia has grown since the Soviet Union's dissolution in 1991, though recent fluctuations have affected the balance.
