Renewable energy to supply 45% of global electricity by 2030, falling short of UN goal.

The International Energy Agency (IEA) reports that renewable energy is projected to supply nearly half of global electricity by 2030, but this will not meet the UN goal of tripling capacity. The world is set to add over 5,500 GW of renewable capacity by 2030, primarily driven by solar energy. While many countries are likely to meet their targets, significant infrastructure improvements are needed to fully integrate renewable sources into power grids.
