In the first quarter of the 2024-2025 fiscal year, Bangladesh's export earnings rose 5.04% to $11.37 billion, driven mainly by apparel exports. Ready-made garments contributed $9.29 billion, with September earnings alone reaching $3.5 billion, a 6.78% increase from the previous year. Despite past discrepancies in reporting, the Export Promotion Bureau has made corrections for September 2023 to improve accuracy. The annual export target is set at $50 billion.
