2 officers face misconduct, assault charges for ordering K9 to bite subdued suspect during arrest.

Sterling Heights police officers James Sribniak and Jack Currie face charges of misconduct and felonious assault for their actions during the February arrest of Garry Young, a domestic violence suspect. After Young was subdued, Currie allegedly ordered Sribniak to use a K9 to bite him. Both officers, currently on leave, could face up to nine years in prison if convicted. The Michigan Attorney General has stressed the importance of proper K9 deployment in law enforcement.
