Lowndes County Schools in Georgia postpone reopening until October 16th due to Hurricane Michael aftermath.

Lowndes County Schools in Georgia will reopen on October 16th, following a delay due to safety concerns post-Hurricane Michael. More than 130 roads remain blocked by debris and downed power lines, hindering bus routes. Interstate 75 is also congested with evacuees. The school district is working with local officials and utilities to resolve these issues and ensure a safe return to classes. Valdosta City Schools resumed earlier on October 8th.
