Conjoined twins Amari and Javar Ruffin celebrated their first birthday after successful separation surgery at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia on August 21, 2024. Born sharing parts of their sternum, diaphragm, abdominal wall, and liver, they underwent an eight-hour operation led by over 24 specialists. After 10 months in care, they are now at home with their family, developing independence and receiving ongoing therapies. The Ruffins stress the importance of seeking second opinions in medical care.
