Allegheny County Executive Sara Innamorato proposes a 2.2-mill property tax increase to address a $60 million deficit in the 2025 budget.

Allegheny County Executive Sara Innamorato unveiled her 2025 budget proposal, which includes a 2.2-mill property tax increase—the first in 12 years—aimed at addressing a projected $60 million deficit. The tax hike would raise the rate from 4.73 to 6.93 mills, generating approximately $167 million in revenue. To mitigate the impact, Innamorato proposed increasing the homestead exemption. Public hearings will be held before the budget's final approval in December.
