Austin Amos Kennedy Byrnside, 24, has been sentenced to life in prison without parole for the first-degree murder of his grandmother, Paulette Clark, owner of the Dixie Diner in North Carolina. On May 6, 2022, Byrnside shot Clark in the eye with a BB rifle and assaulted her, leading to her death days later. He initially denied involvement but later confessed and implicated his uncle, Maurice Jones Jr., who admitted to being an accessory.
