Texas Governor Greg Abbott is deploying emergency resources to Florida and Tennessee in response to Hurricanes Milton and Helene. The Texas Division of Emergency Management will provide personnel and support for flood response in Florida and recovery efforts in Tennessee. This assistance is coordinated through the Emergency Management Assistance Compact (EMAC). Meanwhile, Hurricane Milton is expected to make landfall in Florida as a major hurricane, posing risks of severe storm surge and winds.
