Grand Rapids Public Schools and Michigan State University launch tuition-free teacher training for high school seniors.

Grand Rapids Public Schools (GRPS) and Michigan State University (MSU) have launched a tuition-free teacher training program for high school seniors, addressing local teacher shortages. Fifteen GRPS students will take MSU classes while still in high school and receive full scholarships for further education at MSU or Grand Rapids Community College. The initiative, funded by an anonymous donor, aims to cultivate future teachers from the community, with first graduates expected in 2029.
