CRTC directs Canada's top telecoms to lower international roaming fees for Canadians abroad.
The CRTC has directed Canada's largest telecom companies—BCE Inc., Rogers Communications, and Telus Corp.—to reduce high international roaming fees for Canadians traveling abroad. The companies must report their proposed actions by November 4. If progress is insufficient, the CRTC will initiate a public proceeding. The regulator also aims to establish new wholesale roaming rates through negotiations or arbitration if necessary, ensuring more affordable options for consumers.
