Councillor Eddie Fitzpatrick, overlooked by Fianna Fáil, chooses to run independently in the general election.

Councillor Eddie Fitzpatrick has decided to run as an independent candidate in the upcoming general election after being overlooked by Fianna Fáil for their ticket. The party selected Cllr Tony McCormack and Cllr Claire Murray, who Fitzpatrick claims did not participate in the selection process. With over 20 years on Offaly County Council and nearly 2,000 votes in the last local election, Fitzpatrick aims to represent North Offaly independently.
