Afghan security forces rescued a child kidnapped from Spin Boldak district in Kandahar province and arrested four suspects, including two women, in Helmand province. The kidnappers demanded a $50,000 ransom. Following a successful operation, the child was safely returned to his family. Kidnapping for ransom is prevalent in Afghanistan, where criminal gangs often target affluent families in economically struggling regions.
