Stellantis extends Fiat 500e production halt for three weeks due to weak electric vehicle sales.

Stellantis has extended the production halt of the Fiat 500e electric vehicle for three weeks, now lasting until at least November 1, due to weak orders amid a global decline in electric vehicle sales. CEO Carlos Tavares will address an Italian parliamentary committee on October 11 about the company's production strategies. Despite the downturn, Stellantis plans to invest €100 million in the Mirafiori plant to enhance electric drive batteries and develop a hybrid version of the 500 by 2025.
