Monolith Soft, known for the Xenoblade Chronicles series, has launched a new Research and Development (R&D) department to expand its in-house game engine, initially developed for the 2010 title. This initiative aims to enhance their game development capabilities in anticipation of future projects, possibly for the next Nintendo Switch model. The company opted to refine its own engine rather than adopt third-party options for better customization.
