The Indian government has increased monthly nutrition support for tuberculosis (TB) patients to Rs 1,000, up from Rs 500, as part of its goal to eliminate TB by 2025. This change will benefit 2.5 million patients annually and includes energy-dense nutrition for underweight individuals. Additionally, household contacts of TB patients will receive support under a new initiative, aimed at improving treatment outcomes and reducing mortality associated with TB.
