Federal Court of Appeal approves CN's $250M rail-truck hub project in Greater Toronto, dismissing environmental concerns.

The Federal Court of Appeal has approved a $250 million rail-and-truck hub project by Canadian National Railway in Greater Toronto, dismissing environmental and health concerns raised in a legal challenge. The unanimous ruling determined that the federal government acted reasonably in allowing the construction, despite potential air quality impacts from 800 diesel trucks expected to operate daily in Halton Region. The project will double CN's track capacity in Milton.
