An explosion at the St. Patrick's Parish Center on the St. Mary's School campus in O'Neill, Nebraska, occurred early on October 7, 2024, generating flames that reached 50-60 feet. The fire was controlled within an hour, and classes at St. Mary's Elementary and High School were canceled. Avera St. Anthony's Hospital is assessing damage and has established a temporary emergency room at the O'Neill Community Center. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
