The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) has announced plans to partially reopen Interstate 40 (I-40) in Cocke County, affected by Hurricane Helene flooding. Within two weeks, one lane in each direction will be restored between the Tennessee-North Carolina state line and mile marker 447. Currently, I-40 is closed at mile marker 447 westbound and 440 eastbound. Travelers are advised to use alternative routes, including US 441, while assessments continue.
