South Woodford Library and Gym will close for about a year after the discovery of reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete (RAAC) during a September 5 inspection. While there is no immediate danger, the concrete must be replaced for safety. Temporary facilities, including a pop-up library and fitness studio, will be available at the Redbridge Drama Centre. The Kenneth More Theatre is also closed, canceling all shows. The council emphasizes safety and offers apologies for the disruption.
