A Special Court of India's National Investigation Agency (NIA) in Patna sentenced six individuals to 5 to 12 years in prison for their role in planting an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) on a railway track in Bihar in 2016. The device was defused by locals before detonation. The NIA took over the investigation in January 2017, with a chargesheet filed in July of that year. Additional fines were imposed, with further imprisonment for non-payment.
