Kerala court acquits BJP state president K. Surendran and others in bribery case related to 2021 Assembly elections.

A Kerala court has acquitted BJP state president K. Surendran and five others in a bribery case related to the 2021 Assembly elections. The prosecution alleged they bribed BSP candidate K. Sundara to withdraw his candidacy. However, the court found the case lacked merit and suggested it may have been politically motivated. Surendran, while relieved, expressed frustration over what he perceives as fabricated cases against him. CPI-M leader V.V. Rameshan plans to appeal the decision.
