Former Harare Mayor Muchadeyi Masunda was acquitted of indecent assault charges due to insufficient evidence. The complainant, Ropafadzo Sibusiso Chidawu, alleged the assault occurred during a meeting in August 2023, but inconsistencies in her testimony and delayed reporting led Magistrate Ayanda Ndlamini to dismiss the case. This is the fifth time Masunda has been cleared of similar accusations by Chidawu, who he remains committed to supporting as a co-trustee of a trust.
