Keavonte T. Nesby, 22, from Kentucky, has been indicted for the murder of Southern Illinois University student Keeshanna Jackson, who was shot at a Carbondale house party on August 22, 2021. He faces two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of aggravated discharge of a firearm, and one count of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon. Jackson, a freshman, was among four injured and later died at a local hospital. Nesby's preliminary hearing is set for October 15.
