Study finds olanzapine more effective than prochlorperazine for refractory nausea in chemotherapy-naive breast cancer patients.

A study at the American Society of Clinical Oncology's Quality Care Symposium found that olanzapine is more effective than prochlorperazine in alleviating refractory nausea in chemotherapy-naive breast cancer patients. In a trial with 310 participants, olanzapine demonstrated greater reductions in nausea scores and improved overall quality of life compared to both prochlorperazine and placebo. This suggests olanzapine could be a promising antiemetic therapy for this patient group.
