RWE starts constructing 450 MW battery storage projects in Texas for grid stability by 2025.

RWE, a leading renewable energy firm, has begun constructing three battery energy storage projects in Texas, totaling 450 MW and 900 MWh. These projects—Crowned Heron 1, Crowned Heron 2, and Cartwheel 1—aim to enhance grid stability for the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT). They support RWE's goal to expand global battery storage capacity to 6 GW by 2030. Completion is expected by summer 2025.
