During his three-day visit to Pakistan, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim reaffirmed Malaysia's support for the UN Security Council resolution on Kashmir and highlighted human rights concerns. He and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif agreed to enhance cooperation in various sectors, including trade and defense. They also called for an immediate ceasefire in West Asia and Malaysia plans to open a trade office in Karachi to boost bilateral trade.
