The Competition Bureau of Canada is investigating the Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) for potentially limiting competition among brokers. A court order has been obtained to examine whether CREA's commission rules inhibit buyers' agents from offering lower rates and if its cooperation policies hinder smaller brokerages. As of now, there are no findings of wrongdoing, and CREA has not publicly commented on the investigation.
