California-based Precision Toxicology, operating as Precision Diagnostics, will pay $27 million to settle allegations of submitting false claims for unnecessary urine tests billed to Medicare and Medicaid. The company was accused of incentivizing doctors with free urine drug test cups to refer patients, violating anti-kickback laws. The settlement includes a five-year Corporate Integrity Agreement, following whistleblower lawsuits highlighting these practices.
