Winnipeg launches 15 food waste drop-off stations on October 15 to reduce food waste and carbon emissions by 2030.

Winnipeg will launch 15 food waste drop-off stations on October 15 to help residents reduce food waste and carbon emissions ahead of a full Green Cart program in 2030. Managed by Compost Winnipeg, the stations, including those at three 4R Depots, will allow residents to dispose of food scraps in any container. Mayor Gillingham highlights that diverting a tonne of food waste eliminates two tonnes of CO2 emissions. Additional drop-off locations may be added later.
