The Wisconsin Department of Corrections has settled with the U.S. Department of Justice to enhance support for hearing-impaired inmates. Following complaints about inadequate services, the settlement mandates the provision of necessary aids like sign language interpreters and hearing aids, policy modifications for accommodations, and staff training on the Americans with Disabilities Act. Additionally, three affected inmates will receive $15,000 each.
